This Comb Tooth (Hericium collaroides) originates from outside of Minerva, New York in the Adirondacks, where it was found by a friend of SoFlo Fungi, Alaric Strauss. It is a favorite of his to grow, and he was gracious enough to allow us to sell it to the masses through our culture shop! It grows just like Lion’s Mane, and is said to contain a very similar quantity of the functional compounds, hericenones and erinacines.
It will do well on 5-10lb fruiting blocks with about 10% supplementation. It needs 95%-99% RH to fruit, with 99% to initiate pinning, while humidity can be dropped to 85%-90% as the fruiting bodies continue to develop.
This mushroom is a choice edible, and will be a hit with culinarily inclined cultivators.
My cultures come in sterile syringes filled 10-12cc of premium live mycelium, sterile water, and a carefully chosen proprietary blend of nutrients specific to the species of fungi selected.
