It will grow very well on supplemented hardwood sawdust, in grow bags (top fruiting), or some have had success with monotubs. It requires relatively high humidity, and lots of fresh air.

Warm Weather Blue Oyster a brand new commercial quality strain bred by SoFlo Fungi from spores of a very productive Blue Oyster strain.

Blue Oyster is a popular strain of Pleurotus ostreatus which produces beautiful blue oyster mushrooms. Optimal temperature for this strain is between 65F and 75F, with the capability of fruiting in warmer temps with a minor decrease in color. Optimal RH is 80%-90%. This strain is extremely aggressive, and will colonize grain and agar plates rapidly.

My cultures come in sterile syringes filled 10cc of premium live mycelium, sterile water, and a carefully chosen proprietary blend of nutrients specific to the species of fungi selected.

It originates from the British Aisles, which it grows during the Summer months on hardwood trees. It is known for it’s delicious, savory seafood flavors and large branched clusters of fruiting bodies. It will grow from 65-90F on anything you give it: cardboard, coffee, hardwood sawdust, master’s mix, or anything else you’d care to try it on. I have yet to find a substrate that did not fruit with this species – not to say there isn’t one! It will do best in moderate humidity during fruiting – 85% +/- 5%, or up to 95%.

Parkland Phoenix Oyster (Pleurotus pulmonarius) – Liquid Culture Syringe https://soflofungi.com/product/phoenix-oyster-liquid-culture-syringe/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=phoenix-oyster-liquid-culture-syringe https://soflofungi.com/product/phoenix-oyster-liquid-culture-syringe/#respond Sun, 08 Nov 2020 19:31:16 +0000 https://soflofungi.com/?post_type=product&p=83 Pleurotus pulmonarius is known commonly as the Phoenix Oyster or Lung Oyster. It is known for it’s large, sometimes translucent fruits when found in the wild. However, when cultivated, this strain is opaque white, with a slightly silver (mostly white) topped cap. It is one of the tastier oysters that I have tried, and it too has a voracious appetite. I have grown these on cardboard, coffee grinds, hardwood sawdust, master’s mix and even pine chips! I would recommend using 15% supplemented sawdust or master’s mix. It will also grow on straw. Temperature range is 60F-90F, and RH is best left in the mid 80% range. Sometimes spiking the RH up to 95% for a day will precipitate pinning.

Parkland Phoenix Oyster is a locally foraged, cloned, propagated, and rigorously tested strain of oyster mushroom found in Parkland, FL, USA! I found this beautiful specimen while on a run on Riverside Drive in Parkland, and had to immediately take a sample to bring home to clone. In fruiting trials, this strain has outperformed just about any gourmet oyster culture I have in my library in terms of productivity. It’s also delicious! I recommend pan frying it in fresh minced garlic and ghee/butter and seasoning with thyme. It works great in omelets or as a standalone side dish. It can also be the featured protein in pasta dishes.
