It is known for it’s large, sometimes translucent fruits when found in the wild. However, when cultivated, this strain is opaque white, with a slightly silver (mostly white) topped cap. It is one of the tastier oysters that I have tried, and it too has a voracious appetite. I have grown these on cardboard, coffee grinds, hardwood sawdust, master’s mix and even pine chips! I would recommend using 15% supplemented sawdust or master’s mix. It will also grow on straw. Temperature range is 60F-90F, and RH is best left in the mid 80% range. Sometimes spiking the RH up to 95% for a day will precipitate pinning.

Parkland Phoenix Oyster is a locally foraged, cloned, propagated, and rigorously tested strain of oyster mushroom found in Parkland, FL, USA! I found this beautiful specimen while on a run on Riverside Drive in Parkland, and had to immediately take a sample to bring home to clone. In fruiting trials, this strain has outperformed just about any gourmet oyster culture I have in my library in terms of productivity. It’s also delicious! I recommend pan frying it in fresh minced garlic and ghee/butter and seasoning with thyme. It works great in omelets or as a standalone side dish. It can also be the featured protein in pasta dishes.

My cultures come in sterile syringes filled 10cc of premium live mycelium, sterile water, and a carefully chosen proprietary blend of nutrients specific to the species of fungi selected.
