Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) is one of the most common species of medicinal mushroom in North America. It is well researched and for its touted potential medicinal benefits including: supporting immune health*, gut health*, and possibly has anti-viral properties*.
This strain comes from the beautiful forests of the Northeastern United States. Turkey tail is a polypore mushroom that forms beautiful beige rainbow colored fan structures which proliferate across the growing substrate.
This strain survives well in a variety of temperature and humidity ranges. It is one of the more beginner friendly species around, growing well in supplemented sawdust from almost any type of wood, or some claim it to even propagate well on cardboard.
